I don't know what your problem is Randy.
711 inside the pack and the Chop House on the outside!

My bush going pack has two unchanging residents, Chopweiler and Swamp Warden with handles. At times another blade or two goes on the trip, but those two stay no matter what.

Tough choices. I really like the 711 as my "if I can only have one" blade, even over the B8. Waiting on the Chop House (both thick and lean) and will see if one will push the 711 away.

I had thought about that Cesar, but I will already have a Mora with built in ferro rod in the bag. Yeah I know, it doesn't have the versatility of the 711 NOR the strength, but I am trying to keep it light and am getting ready to take everything out of the pack for re-evaluation, trying to get as many items as I can inside to serve more than one purpose so I can carry more varied gear for the same weight.

What I need do to is make a list of the ESSENTIAL for life requirements and then start building from there, AND then make a BARE BONES "Bag" for the EDC "Walkabout" Belt. The criteria will be:

1. Water, and a way to purify it and carry it.
2. Shelter, and a way to have or make it
3. Safety, both Health items, ie a FAK and a weapon of some sort. Not 100 percent sure yet if this means TWO weapons or just one. It goes without saying that It looks like the B8 is winning the race so far so that might well be my BAG knife. Now the EDBC (Every Day Belt Carry) blade will be either my S5, S6 or possibly even the 711 paired with the Muppy. Hmmm. MAYBE I need to get a "Scout Carry" sheath built for the Muppy!
4. Food, and a way to have or acquire some in which ever way necessary.

1. Is pretty easy:
I am a delegate of the federation of the red cross and red cresent movement and I am a Wat/San technician.
If you just want to get viruses and bacteria out (without reverse osmosis toxins etc. is not even possible) there is nothing better than this one:

And it does 13.000 gallons!
