I couldn't find my last avatar of my Godfather so I took a pic of my bull nose Regulator. Time for an avatar change anyway. The teeny avatar pic makes it look like a neck knife though. Hmmmm. I wonder.....?

I've got a Bulldog Reg as well, and I LIKE IT! But I take it out every once in a while and strok er ah Oil it up. I mean I wipe it down with a preservative. Whew, that was a close one.

Looks quite livable Greaser, comfortable yet less expensive to heat and cool. Thanks PK yep that was one of the main concerns especially with the temp extremes we have here.

Having lived in an 850sqft house in Idaho for two years, it CAN be done, and quite comfortably. BUT personally I feel you need another space to "Let your hair down" and relax, and to pursue your "Hobby or hobbies. This could be as simple as a covered outdoor space or a complete "Room" to include Air Conditioning and Heating. (Might as well be comfortable) I plan on having the man cave in the garage which will be heated and cooled.

When I retire I want a 3 bedroom house that's around 1200 square feet.
1 real bedroom and a room for my wife's hobbies and a room for my hobbies.
I would need a barn or a healthy shed, but that would be more than enough for my wife and I.
That was the size of our first home and it was perfect for us.

As long as you are happy with the location it should work nicely for you. Add to that the time you have to work/add to it for even more comfort and it can be a great retirement home.
