Greaser,
I had one on one of my ACR's.

The 6MOA reticle was a deal killer. At 100 yards you cover 2x the target area you want your group to be

Also, the reticle washed out in bright light.

No batteries = ACOG or TR24.

The bat life on newer Aimpoints is around SEVEN YEARS of constant on!

I will be running it on a 12 gauge so I was thinking the 6 moa would be fine and from what I have heard the wash out has been improved in current gen models. I should have mentioned the firearm it would be riding on first off. My 5.56 will be getting an aimpoint for sure.

It would actually work well on a shotgun.

Perfect that was my thoughts but I have never had my hands on one. Thanks Arch.

You're welcome. I loved the concept, but it was lost on a 556 carbine

Side note: I bought mine used and it came with an ARMS throw lever mount. The optic is rather wide, and would rock side to side when mounted. I don't know if this was related to the mount or the mount/optic interface.

Since it had a 6MOA ret I couldn't tell if this had any effect on accuracy. This wouldn't matter on a shotgun, but the recoil might pose a problem if it's a design issue between the mount/optic interface.

Again, I think it would be a great choice on a SG as long as you can lock it down tightly.

Clarification: the mount / rifle rail interface was 100% solid. The optic would rock side to side on top of the mount.

OK I'll be sure to check that when mine comes in. I get a substantial discount on them as well so I am glad it is as good as it seems for this application.

.... yep, with my Busse addiction I watch this daily... $1A = $0.72US. When current stocks of Glocks in country are exhaused I expect to see them pushing $1K retail new.

That's not a terrible difference in price. $576 US. This is about what brick and mortar stores list them for on the shelves here.

The actual price is less.
