What specifically did you NOT like about the XS "Dot the I" sights?

I'd rather have just a front dot. The post rear is slow for me. This could be because I've been shooting 3 dots for 20+ years.

XS big dot front sights WILL crack on the white area. Trust me. Don't bang your gun around.

Well Crap! I shoot a bead shallow V REAL well. Wonder how durable the standard dot would be?

They might be, but that wasn't OEM. Someone added them. Nothing wrong with this.

Oh yeah, they were added when Quintrall worked on the gun for me. Sorry, I forgot to say that. blush

It's okay. We make exceptions for old timers.

Now I have to admit, the sights on my PX4 are a LOT better (For me) as there is a more than normal gap on either side of the front sight when sighting.

If you don't like a front sight filling the rear gap you're sighting wrong. Your rear sight should be barely visible / barely noticed. Front sight focus is what combat handgunning is about.

You're overthinking it.

If the gap fill is distracting - file out the rear gap to open it up or use non-NS rear and NS front.

Yeah I find the lack of side distance VERY detrimental. Also I think that I am trying to line up the TOP of both sights instead of the dots. It's probably my eyes as I wear glasses and have a natural astigmatism .

Rich, I thought about posting a picture of Burt Gummer's gun room or the HK pattern room but hosting from my phone is a pain...
