Randy, the Aimpoint T-1 weighs 3.0 ounces and is about 3" long. Battery life is 5 years on setting 8 of 10.

Just looked it up OUCH! The Vortex and Lucid offerings are more in my working man's price range. Think I might hold out for the Lucid HD7 Gen III. My birthday is not much over a month away, I might have to start dropping "Hints". smile

I like the Spitfire for an inexpensive ($180) optic. I tried it after I had an Eotech fail. Loved the recticle and sight picture but too often when checking, the Eotech's "N" batteries were found to be dead and after the electronics died for the second time I contacted them and got a refund in full.
So now I've been trying to find suitable optics with glass etched recticles. Will always have a sight picture, even if you forget to turn on or if the battery is dead. May have to save up and try an Aimpoint with their killer battery life, but am partial to the circle dot for my aging eyes. My grail would be a VCOG.
A buddy tried the Lucid and found the Dot to be irregular and the unit seemed to just have a cheap feel to it. He sent it back.

Hooker,
I've had a couple of Leupold Circle-Dot scopes with actual reticles (visible without batteries). I like the scopes, and found the illumination plenty bright for day use.

Been looking at the Leupold 1.25-4x20 VX-R patrol, about $600, but way less expensive than the mark 4,6,&8
Currently have 1X4's by Vortex and Burris, not bad But I like my Leupolds better.

I run an Aimpoint PRO. I like it but I wonder about longer range shots with the 2 MOA dot and my astigmatism.

I may pick up an MRO when my Eotech refund gets in if I can find one for a decent price.

I have an astigmatism too. I've had the "comma dot" or "comet tail" with my 2MOA Aimpoint CompM4, but oddly I've only noticed it once.

I've been able to make standing hits on a 30" steel gong at 375 yards with my 2MOA. This is "minute of 2 men", but it was all I was trying to do.

Deep Concealment = Sig P238, Taurus 38 revolver
EDC = Said revolver or Taurus PT11 or whatever it is--short 9mm
Home Defense = pump 12
Night Stand = Springfield XDM45 with a light
"Truck" Gun = hmmm...don't have one I keep in the truck but if I did, it would be my Ruger Blackhawk 357
Red Dawn / NOKO Invasion = RF match grade AR in 223
Small Game Hunting = Stevens 22 or an O/U 20 I love for rabbits
Big Game Hunting = too many to choose! Stevens 25-06, Savage 30-06, 24" 30-30, or my Guide Gun are the go to-s, but I am loving the 300 Blackout now after testing it on a decent deer, and I am still working up the 458 SOCOM and 6.5 Grendel. I think the ARs may compete with the others soon for prominence in the pack. I have my grandfather's 300H&H for anything really big that needs putting down at a distance. That would be my elk gun if I ever get that chance.
Wing Hunting = Mossberg 835 for turkey and goose, SxS 12 or 16, or O/U 12.
Target Practice = Whatever I hunt with
Competition (also name the sport) = Whatever I hunt with. I "compete" with SF45ACP on the number of deer we take on a kill permit in the summer.
Because Its Cool = well, all of them grin

I like the Spitfire most out if Vortex's red dot offerings. Had an Aimpoint that was nice...too nice for me, but my astigmatism doesn't much like the non-etched reticles.

I have a Leupold MARK AR 1.25-4x20 SPR FireDot. I like the scope (and the BBC dials).
