That large GTI folder opens up like the blade was on ball bearings!

While reading my new issue of blade magazine and came across an article on auto knives, when I came across the acronym S.E.R.E. Reminded me of the AL Mar SERE Attack blades (folders) from back in the late 60's and 70's. I ALMOST bought a large one Back in the EARLY 80's I think it was. BIG knife. I did go on to buy two of the smaller ones, one the Micarta brown/chocolate handle and one with the rubber handle.

Anyway, while thinking of this I thought of the GTI folder (large) and how it would make a great combat folder or survival blade. It isn't all that long in the tooth (3.5 inch blade) but it is very wide and at 3/16 inch thick would hold up nicely and it has a bomb proof titanium liner. So for those folks who can't carry a fixed blade this large GTI folder would make a nice addition to anyone's "Kit".

I was just looking through my knife chest and came across a few knives I hadn't thought of in a while.

I have a set (large and small) CRKT authorized copies of two Pat Crawford knives, the Falcon Folders. They carry and feel pretty good in the hand and I remember now why I bought them. They have recurve blades and just look like they mean business.

I ALSO found a couple more CRKT blades, two more Pat Crawford designs of the Crawford/Kasper folding fighters, in again the large and small sizes. PLUS I also have the fixed blade!

It's kinda nice rummaging through the chest from time to time.

Skunk, finally gave up the 3-week old search for my old EDC folder and just purchased the full sized GTI K14416 (3.5" blade) based on your review.

Mastiff, I hope you are as happy with your heavy duty folder as I am. It's done me good service duty so far and now resides in my Maxped Fatty Organizer. I DO carry the Mini every day though.
