Shot my 1st USPSA match yesterday...what an awesome time!
I went with 2 goals...don't get DQ'ed and have fun. Mission accomplished!
By the 3 or 4th stage I was moving better and my accuracy throughout was good. I got two good hits on the first swinger (luck) and my RO's were...surprised...might be a word...
  Can't wait to do more

Glad to see we still have a loyal convert Rich. Keep up having fun. Got any of your family involved yet?

Naw...not yet. I'm going to need someone to teach my son- we get frustrated with each other too easily. My wife was already to learn at one point and said she wanted to go to the range...and literally days later Sandy Hook happened and that was the end of that!
Saw my scores...27th out of 37. Slow as a sloth but the 4th highest amount of alphas. Of course everyone else would be banging out alphas by going slower- but I'm still pleased.

Nice to see you’re having fun. I used to compete until I hurt my leg and couldn’t handle the physical aspects of the sport. It was a lot of fun and the people involved were great.

Awesome!!! I’ve been enjoying competing in 3 gun and run & gun matches for 5 years now. Definitely has made me a better shooter.

I've recently become a true believer in the 450 Bushmaster. Built one and the oldest took a deer cleanly with it at about 125. A 250gr Hornady FTX has the same energy as a moderate modern 45-70 cartridge loaded with a 300gr bullet. Still has enough energy at 400 yards to take down elk-sized game (yes, it's quite the rainbow past 300-350 yards). I thought I was in love with the 458 SOCOM but this is crazy power out of a disproportionately tiny-size cartridge.

Just finished 3 Grendel builds (18" 5r, 20" and 24"...the 20" was a last minute bonus), while waiting for my boys to finish their 300 Blackout and Grendel builds, respectively. Now to scope them and get them ready for hunting.

Also looking to build a 6.5 Creedmoor. Figured I'd finally step up to heavy metal.
Andy, I highly recommend looking into that one. More oomph than the x55, more support than the .260.

…though if you want off the beaten path, the 260 has fewer followers around the campfire...

…something to be said for the path less-traveled. It's where I like to roam with my 25-06 and 300 H&H.
