Dogs

I was thinking about blade fullers (mistakenly called a blood groove)...I know, I have to get out more LOL

Anyway, I really like the look of them and I can't get over how they make a blade so much lighter.

What do you Dogs think

Dan

Personally on SOME blades I like them. But USUALLY they I think are to wide. Take a look at some Japanese blades with fullers. They aren't all that wide usually, and if done correctly will I THINK stiffen a blade a little.

Personally I would rather not have fullers, but WOULD like FFG blades. OR Scandi grinds where all you got to do to sharpen them is lay them flat on the bevel and whet away. That being said, I think that a FFG on the MTW wouldn't be the best choice. A HIGH flat grind would be a good choice, giving the blade strength and also allowing for a nice taper down to the final edge. But what ever edge you pick for it we will gladly accept. grin

I'm not really a fan of fullers unless the blade is big and thick; then the fuller would lighten it up.

I think on certain blade they work. The SWAT is a good example.

I agree on fullers being to wide at times. They do stiffen a blade while making it lighter.
I also like the Full Height Flat Grind...okay I like all grinds, who am I fooling smile

I don't really care for fullers. I do like the DS6 & DS8 in spite of the fullers, but I think they would be even better knives without a fuller, and probably better still with a FHFG. Thank you for asking!

That's why I think the TG 14 is the nicest of the Team Geminis.
