I saw a cool thread on the Busse forum : https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/mini-battle-saw.1722822/ talking about saw teeth on the spine of a knife. Has any of you used a knife with saw teeth on it/would you use a knife with saw teeth on it.

Would that be a cool feature on a Res-C knife?

This was from the Busse thread. I think that the jimping looks a little aggressive if you ask me.

Busse's Battle Saw is pretty cool and feels great in the hand. Even that Hog Badger looks good.

So you DO have one. I have had two. One was sort of like the pic above and worked somewhat. The other was nothing other than triangular points. Neither one was really all that good. They only cut the width of the blade.

Just to be clear, I have had two saw bladed knives. The Air Force survival Knife I have mentioned before and a cheap 20 dollar hollow handled
Survival" knife I had close to 40 years ago.

I have a Battle Saw, not the Hog Badger. The Battle Saw would be great for cutting grooves into wood poles used for shelter making, etc. Rob Stanley did a good video of it in use.

The pic above was just a photo shopped image, Jerry never made that one.

I didn't know if the Custom Shop did that or not; thanks for pointing that out. I still have and like my Battle Saw. wink

Would teeth on a knife with a 6 inch blade even be worth while?

Well like Tom said, they might come in handy for making a groove around a stick of some kind. Other than that I don't personally think they are worth having on ANY knife.

I have never used a knife with saw teeth that was very good. I always carried a Bahco or Silky folding saw.
