After reading about HD's waste of money on the Crowell barker bowie I thought I would pose a question. Dan and trash can, please feel free to censor me if needed. the dogs are always buying large expensive choppers like the rtak the browning or this new spyderco. I sell knives at the swap meet. I have never sold a Knife on line. I have a pay pal account so I am sure I could set it up. my point is I honestly hate to see the dogs loose so much money. I know I could get the dogs this new browning for less than 140 and even less than 110. I do not want to sell knives on dan's web site even if it is all by PM, because it is still his forum. if Dan is fine with a the dogs sending me a PM for these manufactured knives than that would be fine. but if i was dan I would't let me do it either. mabey I will just add my email to my signature or something. I should say I really do not sell for a profit. I do it for fun. that is the first reason, than very little profit like around 10 to 20% wich is nothing.
If there is interest let me know. I have been selling knives for a bout 3 years but I have not mentioned it on the forum because i figure it is inappropriate but you guys are paying to much.

Bld522,

Thank you, I respect your opinion. I have posed the question but even if dan can not monitor the PMs I will still not sell knives if it isn't okay with him and the other dogs, mostly him. it is true it would make for an ugly mess if we were to have every body turning this into a trade forum or store.

mabey we can make an arrangment?? in the end it really doesn't matter to me, because either way I will be able to still get my production blades for cheap.

Personally, I don’t understand why anyone would want lesser knives if they already own the best? It seems like a waste to me. When I started buying these knives, I sold off all my Ontarios and Cold Steel fixed blades so that I could buy more high quality knives. If/when those lesser knives break, they’ll be no great warranty like here, and you’re out your money. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Andy- too right! There is the Busse and Ranger warranty and then everyone else's crap warranty! CS's is a joke; 5 years for material and manufacturing defects? Wow, the generosity!

cheap knives are cheap for a reason.

bikes are the same way.

it has always seemed to me that you get what you pay for up to a certain price point, and then the excess costs are for little r&d things that don't make too much difference in performance, but are important for pushing the quality and craft forward.

cheap knives... bleh!

note, the dumpster mutt was inexpensive NOT CHEAP!

(not that anyone called the dm cheap, just throwing that perspective out there)

Now that I've discovered Dan's knives/SWK/Busse, the only other production fixed blades I'll even consider are the one that are unique which SYK/SWK/Busse doesn't make. For example, the SOG pentagon, SOG Tigershark, or the WSK... and folders...

I think you get the idea?
