I echo what Tom said. Injuries and the Pandemic has got this year a guaranteed place in the record books. BTW, If Y'all like to read fiction, plausible fiction, check out Annihilation Virus. It's about a GMO based on rabies that is released on the world that basically drives people insane, knowing only aggression if the final stages, with 100 percent mortality rate, until... It actually reads pretty well for the most part.

As much bad stuff that has gone on in 2020, I still feel blessed. Working towards retirement and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm pretty sure it's not a train. As long as the housing market holds out I can sell my house and put a healthy chunk down on my next home.

My wife and kid are pretty excited about the move and despite not really knowing anyone where we are headed it just seems like the right fit for us. Unfortunately, this is really going to put a hamper on a bathroom remodel and I will likely have to pay someone to do the work that I could have done. But sometimes that's life.

Anticipation for the future move will continue to build, especially once you settle on where you want to go. Once we decided on the general area we wanted to live, we contacted various Chambers of Commerce and realtors to get an idea of prices, home and land, etc. We are really happy to have left the greater Chicago area for our place here in S/W Missouri!

I'm a planner, We have been through the area for at least 25 years and originally planned on retiring here. But that changed. Last year and this year we went on vacation and visited around the state and confirmed that we wanted the area. This summer we went and looked at land to buy. Found places we liked but most had an HOA that we didn't like. So we didn't buy.

I/we will probably go and find a house we like and put in an offer contigent on the sale of ours next spring.

If I remember correctly you were looking at Idaho. That should be great as long as you can avoid the Californians who moved there and want to change Idaho into another California. HOA's are just one example .

HOA's are a BIG four letter word. And now that Kamala Harris has been named as Crazy Joe's running mate, we maybe should all "Head for the hills"

I know Idaho has become a popular place for Californiaa's to flee to lately.

Wouldn't they tend to hang out around Boise and Coeur d'Alene.

Boise area and Sandpoint. Pretty much everywhere else is very conservative.
