Howdy Skunky. The earthquake just vibrated the house a little bit. No damage to my knives or coffee equipment though. I was halfway out the door with my espresso machine cradled in my arms when my wife told me it was over. I had to pull a couple of shots to make sure the machine was alright and to restart my heart. I had to endure some eye rolling from my wife for a while but I sent her up on the roof to check for damage. She was too tired after that for any more sarcastic commentary.

Just glanced outside and it's snowing. The bonus is I thought it was going to be too warm for chili. Nope time to cook a big pot of chili.

If you are adventurous MB, try a can of garbanzo beans. And use at least one can of corned beef for some added texture. That is if you are like us pro folk and use hamburger.

Ray, Glad Y’all are safe. Yeah the wife will be a lot calmer when she has to recover her breath. You might want to have a special “coffee” go bag. You could already have it pre packed with some supplies and a small solar generator to power your equipment.

Other than deer or Elk, I have never used anything other than hamburger for chili. I do throw in some black beans for my chili though. Only thing I didn't have on hand was red onion.

Subject change, but Patty and I had pinto beans with scramble eggs and diced bacon, lot of diced bacon the other night for supper. I used 8 eggs, one can of pinto beans and about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of those bacon bits you get at Sams club in a 20oz bag. They’re labeled Crumbled Bacon.

Last night we had some beef roast and broccoli that the General doctored up; fried some bacon, sauteed the broccoli in it, and added shredded co-jack cheese. It was GOOD!
