Gotta love new toys! One benefit of a white trailer is it reflects some of the heat from the sun. Can still get pretty toasty inside but every bit helps keep the gas from boiling out of the toys inside! Not sure on the prices, but does the dealer know anyone who does vinyl wrapping? Perhaps they could do a basic solid color on the sides for a decent price?

Morning!
Cold One, I actually have a friend that does custom wraps. That stuff is crazy expensive.

After we move I want to convert the trailer to a living quarters toy hauler. I'm not too keen on black due to the heat but Silver or even charcoal gray would be fine. I live in a colder climate and plan on insulating the roof and walls as the first part of the conversion.

Once it's all done it shouldn't look like a typical RV camper nor should it really scream enclosed trailer.

I suspect it's going to be a multi year project. More because of cash and my lack of talent. There is no way I'm going to run the electrical wiring myself. Me and house wiring have a love hate relationship. I don't mind removing the walls roof and floor to insulate and fix the gaps from the factory. I want to install an awning and get some windows in right away.
After those are done I'm going to have to sit down with my wife and decide how she wants it set up. She has told me several ideas that conflict with each other. Once I start adding cabinets and counters I really don't plan on moving anything.

I would be content with some lighting and a folding bench/bed with a table. But I think she is going to want a bit more. As long as I'm warm/dry and have a nice place to sleep I'm good.

Probably should go with led lighting. Just saw an ad for a 1000k propane generator that runs on a 10lb tank for 50 hours! (?)Yeah a Murphy bed setup would give you a lot more living space and if the “not so runt” could handle it, a drop down style bunk bed would also work. Just watch a lot of did it themselves converted ambulances for ideas. There are some pretty innovative folks out there.

At this point LED is the only way to go. I have a couple options on the beds. One is a set of tumble and fold benches over the wheel wells, a Murphy bed, a bed-mounted on a lift and making a removable frame that attaches with e-trac. A good portion is going to depend on how the wife wants to floorplan laid out.
I will likely make the second bed something that can be removed quickly and not permanently attached. We will be empty nesters in a few years.

I have been looking at a lot of conversion builds online. There are definitely talented and creative people out there.

LOL, I probably will have what I need on me or in a safe in my tow rig. Most likely on me since we will be spending the majority of the time in Grizzly country. They behave most of the timebut just in case we come across one that takes offense to our existence in the area.

I carried lead based bear spray when I went for wanders. Had a nice little marlin guide gun in stainless. Chambered in 45/70 with a peep sight. Handloads put a 400 grain out the business end at a consistent 1800fps. Fortunately never had to use it mind you.
