Most people get away from here due to the damp environnent and what it does to the joints etc.. i love the damp or should i say my body does. The desert climates dry me right out

I like hot, dry weather. I like feeling the sun's rays soaking into me. I like rarely feeling damp, because sweat evaporates instantly. I like not needing more than T-shirts and shorts, except on a handful of the coldest days of winter. I like hopping in the pool for a swim every day. That said, it doesn't necessarily need to be as extreme as it is here in Las Vegas.
I just moved from eastern Tenneessee a month ago, where it was super humid and damp all the time. It was also cold (for my tastes) most of the time, and too hot the rest of the time. There were only about two days in my year and a half in Tennessee when I thought the weather was actually pleasant. The humidity did indeed affect my joints negatively, but it did so much more than that. It was like living in a mold farm, and the mold didn't agree with me. I also didn't like constantly dealing with impending rust on everything I own.
That said, my wife is having a hard time dealing with the extreme heat and dryness. I guess it comes down to what you are used to and adapted for.

Very good call on the mold and issues that can cause, on the coast you sort of adapt and learn to beat it or your just a savage and live in it lol. As long as its able to breathe fresh air here most molds avoidable.. but it sure can destroy if its hidden

My sinuses will get affected instantly from any disturbed mold.. bloody mucus the next day etc. Always fun to deal with removing or finding as a contractor. Still beats chapped and cracked lips from the dry though !!

Well, a storm moved through here quickly bringing some rain; now it's hot and muggy.

I spent about half my life living on the California coast (first in Santa Monica, then in Santa Cruz) and never had the kind of issues with humidity, my joints, and mold that I had in Tennessee. But I have seen some of those issues during my times around Portland, Oregon, and the Olympic Peninsula, in Washington. I guess because it gets more chilly and damp further North. I love those areas, but the weather up there isn't ideal for me.
