I'm probably going to pick one up for the kitchen. I'll have to try and force a patina otherwise the kiddo will use it and do an impromptu one for me.

Morning dogs, nothing wrong with a natural patina !!! You should see the ridiculous things I find on my kids blades from doing 12 year old kid stuff with it LOL.

I bought that knife back in 1980 and used it constantly until about 5 or 6 years ago when I semi-retired it after Mike Stewart refurbished it for me.
I will know fully retire it as I couldn't bare to lose it now

As for a patina, I love the natural patina that a well used/cared for carbon blade attains.
At my heart I love traditional steel.

I don't think that I have bought a knife (any brand) since before covid hit, when I read the email about this knife coming available I casually mentioned at dinner that I was thinking of getting this one, my wife and two daughter all at once told me that I needed to do this.
Darn enablers

My dad was diagnosed with colon cancer a few weeks ago and will be getting his colon removed soon.
This surgery is on hold, he has tumors in his neck and lymph nodes that he is going in on Thursday to have a biopsy done on them.
If he is a candidate for surgery I will be buying him a tablet.
He will be in hospital for 7 to 10 days and mentioned that he wanted me to put mahjong on his phone, I figure it will be easier for him to play it on a tablet.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad. My prayers are going out for him. I got a tablet to use as a GPS screen for my SxS. I use that sucker a lot for the internet and an E-reader. I'm betting it will make the time in the hospital go quicker for him.

Going well here. Spring has sprung, grass is growing and the fish are biting. Work is going well, staying busy and working as much overtime as I want. Put in for shift supervisor against my better judgment, so we’ll see how that goes.

I got in my order on the new knife. Figured it would be a good alternative to the Muk I missed out on.
