Afternoon Yard!

It's nice weather here. Sunny and 73. Hard to beat that weather wise.

I have the day to myself so I'm doing my chore list. I put together a couple of metal target stands. I finally have enough to have a pretty decent portable range setup. I just need to grab a few lengths of furring strips and a 2x4 and I'm set for steel and paper.

I cleaned out the chicken coop and put a nesting box on the outside. They have been fussing over the single nest and I'm finding eggs on the ramp and in front of the coop. It was time to expand.

I am going through my food storage and think I need to organize some of it better. I keep bulk bags of rice, flour, sugar and beans in 5 gallon buckets. I have a label on the side. I think I'm going to switch to a color code gamma/style bucket lid. If I use different color lids for each type of food, it will make it easier to find what I need when we swap out new for old to use it. Plus unscrewing a lid is easier than prying a lid off. We aren't getting any younger and my wife has difficulty getting the lids back on and sealed.

Shocker! Any of Y’all heard about this? Patty said someone claimed a restaurant they went to wouldn’t take cash!

My "kids" told me that when they go to a ball game you have to use a credit card for everything. It's scary to think that the government wants to go to a "crypto-currency" and replace physical dollars; that way the government could control EVERYTHING you would use money for. Let's HOPE that there are enough "honest" politicians to prevent that from happening.

Yep, its supposed to roll out in November.

I haven't heard that its mandatory. Its not something that's going to work everywhere and I can predict a lot of problems and pitfalls with it.

Its going to be super easy to "print" more money. Just a computer entry. Plus every transaction goes through the fed.

I can see this being the start of hyperinflation. But realistically most money really isn't in your bank anyway. If you needed to make a large cash withdrawal they would need a few days.

I don't like digital currency. I go to too many farmers markets, farms and local purchases from classified ads to mess with that. Plus out west there are plenty of places without cell signals. So I'm not sure how that's going to work out.

Plus I like having an emergency fund in case of natural disaster. Infrastructure goes down but you still need to pay for fuel, groceries and maybe a hotel.

The storm passed just South of us ; a lot of lightning with it. However, we didn't get a drop of rain.

We got a LOT of lightening/thunder before daylight but hardly any rain. Now they’re say no rain here today.
