Good morning Yard. Last nice day before we get slammed with the bone chilling temps. On top of that we have to put down our oldest dog today ; it's his time. After we return from the Vet's office we will bury him out back where I have already dug a grave for him. It will be a somber day today although we knew it was coming. Life goes on.

So sorry to hear about your dog Tom. We know how it feels when a family member passes. We have two of our “kids” buried as well with their own headstones.

I’m sorry to hear about your dog, Tom.

That's the hardest part of pet ownership, but it has to be accepted. Junior was the first dog dumped on us after we built the new house and he had a good life with us for over 14 years.

We go5 lightening and thunder. Supposed to have a high of 18 degrees Sunday and snow.

Tomorrow morning will be the high temp and then begin dropping to around 20 by noon. We're headed for a few nights of below zero temps at night with single digit highs during the day. Other than a little time with the dogs outside we plan on hibernating for several days.

I hear ya, stocked up on toilet paper and milk today. hey I don’t understand it, but it must be a southern thing.

I try to be prepared for winter storms that may take down power lines and make travel very difficult. Extra propane cylinders for our vent free heaters, charged up extra 12 volt batteries with power inverters for lights and television news, plenty of food and water for us and our dogs, and confidence that we will be OK through it all. That's not counting the gas on hand for our generators.

There is a fierce howling wind and light snow going on right now ; I hope everyone stays safe and secure. This is really "killer" type weather.

I heard at the store that they have “downgraded” our weather to just deep freeze temps. We will see.
