It’s 88 with a heat index of 102. Today it’s expected to reach 94 and a heat index of 110. Now THAT’S hot.

It was a warm one here today as well.
So I loaded up the side by side and the wife and went to some trails in the mountains that I had never road to before. It was a nice day. Went to a place called Skull Canyon near the location of the Birch Creek Massacre. Very pretty ride, bonus was seeing some old log cabins, a mining sluice, and other buildings near the trail. Went up Pass Creek and found a nice place to have some lunch.

Plenty hot around here, but I got all the mowing done. Our garden plants are growing like crazy and I'm enjoying freshly picked tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers.

It's going to be uncomfortably warm for another few days. I got the mowing done early and I need to go run errands.
On a knife related note. I found linen micarta scales to replace the scales on a benchmade pocket knife. I got them installed and after a minor adjustment, it works well. Way better grip than stock and it looks a lot better as well.

It's nice to be able to customize your knife M/B, and sounds like it works for you quite well.

Not to complain, but it’s 96 and a heat index of 115!

At this time in 1981 I would have been within 400 miles of the quake that hit Russia. I would have been on the island of Shemya in the Aleutian Islands. Shemya is 4 miles long and 2 wide covering 6.3 sq.mi.
