Well made it to the range today. Did a halfway break in of my MP5 Clone (MKE AP5). Shot 210 rounds through it and by the time I got to the last 2 mags it functioned 100%. Now the first couple mags I had around 6 failure to feed problems with 124 gr IWI Black Tip Hollow points. We’re talking about half the total round count with the rest being Wolf Gold FMJ. One thing I noticed is at this gun (I guess ALL MP5’S and accurate clones) don’t actually have feed ramps. So that being said I reckon FMJ and hollow points with a longer Ogive (?) would feed better.
Anyway I started with the iron sights until I got them shooting where I wanted. Then I remounted my Vortex Venom RDS and did the same thing. Then I remounted rest of the session was just slinging lead down range for break in.
Hey MB, if you got any input on running an MP5/Clone, I’d appreciate the tips.

I’ve decided that if IT happens, or “They” are ever needed my primaries are gonna be 300blk and my AP5 (BOTH SUPPRESSED), along with my Weatherby Semi Auto and Pump Assault 12ga shotguns. I’ll reserve my 5.56 for backup along with 20ga assault shotty. My primary handgun will be my H&K VP9 (and the SK version).
I’ve already put together assault vests for the 300blk and AP5. Now I just gotta buy another vest for the Shotgun and attach the shell pouches to it and then I will have a grab and go rig for each primary weapon type.
Do I think I’ll ever need these capabilities? No, but I still want the ability. Is the world getting any safer, nope. Enough said.

Well, change 13.1274519783 is in the works.
I’ve got (I think) my gun bag/escape the riot gear figured out, maybe, sorta kinda.
OK, Siggy is in my Pigmy Falcon II back pack along with eight 30 round mags in M4 double mag pouches (they hold 2 mags each really well). I also have a 10 rounder in the magwell (down loaded 1 round so the mag will seat on a closed bolt). I also have a Morakniv with built in ferro rod and a leatherman. I’m planning on putting a breakdown cleaning rod in there for removing (hopefully never) stuck cases. I’m also planning on getting a spare or two extractor springs. (Anyone got any other suggestions got spare “make it go boom” parts I should maybe have)? Oh and of course the suppressor with tri-lug mount will be there as well.
THEN, I’ve made up an old style Y harness and web belt setup. The belt will hold one 1liter single walled Stainless water bottle with nesting cup mounted on each side of a Blackhawk industries butt bag. This way I can carry a sorta trauma FAK along with a Poncho (IF I can find an affordable USGI one in good to new shape) along with some other stuff to help Patty and I EXTRACT ourselves from any Hostile activities that would spring up around us or we would inadvertently drive into (I’m thinking mainly of St Louis as we have to go up there 2-4 times a year to Patty’s specialists).
Is this an ideal build, nope I don’t really think so, but I can put both the gun bag and the harness system in another duffel bag looking thing I have making for a one bag grab and go to actually access when time permits. Man this trying to provide for SD, food, water and “on the run” contingencies along with stay at home prepping is rough. So many things to think of. Since we lost access to our bailout site, it’s gonna be shelter in place. Best I can come up with unless something changes.
