I remember my first Samuel Adams, I was like 21 or 22 and a new limo driver and a client had planned a date with a new girl and wanted me to take them all over. They stopped in a bar/club and wanted me to wait. 3-4 hours later (waiting) I went in to see if they were "alright" and he was pounding them down (he made a real good impression on her!) and told me to start drinking!

I had my first SA but only one (it was good ) then went back to the car. My boss told me I can have a few with the client but not get drunk! I didn't and I made a lot of dough that night...

Was it the Boston Lager? Doesn't matter. All of Jim Koch's recipes are good. He is a homebrewer himself. The man just does not compromise on ingredients. He travels to Germany every year and selects his Hallertauer hops for his lager. Sam Adams beer is world class IMO.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I buy it in some kind of variety case - brewer's pack or something... I don't remember. Anyways, its great stuff. I just grab them out of the box at random and mix it up real good. Boston Lager is probably my favorite, but they're all great!

Red Hook is great too. As are the Montana breweries - Kettle House and Montana Brewing Co.

Sam Adams has over 20 varieties, including Scotch Ale.
