While I was in Atlanta (before Blade started) I went to the Brigade Quartermasters. I got a nice brown pack from the B.O.B. Company. it doesn't look as military as some but has lots of pouches inside. It was about $50. thought you guys should check it out.

They look like they have some good ideas as far as gear-bags go. I have seen varying reviews as far as the quality goes though. Here's the link to the manufacturer ( I think ). Thay have quite a variety of gear.

That bag looks very utilitarian. I almost picked it up but it seems to be on the heavy side. 4 or so pounds the website says. How do you like it and hows the stitching on it?

For $50, seems like a good deal.

I don't have another similar bag to compare weight. Outside material seems sturdy. Stitching good. Has hydration pocket and covered hole in top of pack. Inside pockets seem a little flimsy maybe but it was $50. Pack straps seem nice but I never carried it more than half an hour. Will have to take some pics later.

You did not take a scale in the store with you when you bought it? You can bring it to the post office and use their scale as well. Yes - I have done both. If you ever encounter a dude weighing hiking gear in a store say hello. It's probably me.
