Just make the finger guard a little more protective and find some D2 and I'll have that instead of a Fehrman thru-hiker or Justin's soon to be released necker!

I'm not really a neck knife fan. Just call it the Yard Shaker and everyone will go nuts for it. regardless of what you call it, i don't find that design all that attractive. i had never run into it before the other day when i was cruising around the busse forum on bf.c, and i thought it was kind of ugly. now that it is here, i still find it kind of ugly. that's just my opinion though... i do like that it is a full height grind, from a functional point of view.

I like this knife and neck knives in general. They are as easy to carry as a folder but as strong as a fixed blade. I never go anywhere without a knife but someyimes it can be a pain especially in shorts and a Tshirt. My Sting with a it's On Scene tac sheath is a great option and something that had a better cutting(as opposed to stabbing) edge than the Sting would be much more useful. A good sheath can make or break a neck knife.

The PR was never meant to be a neck knife, Jerry intended for it to be a backup knife that would fit easily on a cop's duty belt and not take up that precious room. Cops have to carry way too much stuff on that belt already, my bro in law looks like a walking swiss army knife at times. Its too big a knife to carry comfortably on a necklace, that thing is a full 1/4" thick and between 4.5 and 5" iirc, I'll check mine tomorrow to make sure the specs are correct. The AS is a much better (and lighter) option, but I carry mine in a belt sheath. If it loads right this time, heres a pic of all the skeleton knives that I have right now, minus the Ranger titanium necker thats in the knife box somewhere. ![[Linked Image from img264.imageshack.us]](http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/1042/skeletonskz1.jpg) As you can see the PR is a beefy little knife.

As you can see the PR is a beefy little knife. I didn't know it was that thick I have changed my mind now 1/4" thick is not what I'm looking for at all ! By the way people keep mentioning Justin of Ranger knives bringing out a Necker, well I saw some pics of Neckers that I think he made for Blade and they had handle slabs....they looked very nice but IMO too heavy to be neckers that you would want to carry all the time !!!

If you ordered from Justin perhaps he'd leave off the scales if you asked, so you could cord bind them! (That's my plan A if the shape and steel on the final models are to my liking, of course that assumes Dan doesn't do a D2 assault shaker!)

I think Dan is listening. Keep in mind we do not know how far his production line is planned out. He could have blades planned for the next 10 months, after which we may see things that have been requested.
It could be that he has lines on other steel and is waiting on that to see about a skeleton knife. SR77 won't be the best for it for a lot of reasons discussed here. My concern is rust as a skeleton knife will most likely end up in a pocket or as a neck knife. Both locations that will get sweated on! Dan won't release a knife he doesn't believe in or that he has performance worries about. I am confident of that!

Coldone I'd agree Dan doesn't release untested knives.. A necker needs to be stainless-ish so sr77 is pretty much out. Let's hope that as ATS34 isn't in the dumpster presently, some D2 is!
