I was just wondering if any of you have noticed a gap at the blade/handle junction right at the top edge. Mine has a fairly pronounced gap here and I'm wondering if it's normal or not.

Kinda looks like mine.

I wouldn't worry though.

"The guys in the shop used to call him “Dan The Hack” because his fit and finish were secondary concerns as he only cared about blade performance and little else. . . His philosophy was simple, if it didn’t affect the performance of the knife, he didn’t bother spending any time on it. So, his knives were a whole lotta ugly in the looks department . . . but their performance was simply amazing."

Point taken. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Just curious what others' experience was. Thanks! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Both of the ones I've seen have a gap.

I only have one SS4 and it does not have any gap at all where yours does.

Mine has a small gap and a little indent on the side without the logo. I may take a file to it to even it up. I think the gap is from the polished spine being done after the handle was put on. A few imperfections give it character. Long live Dan the Hack! If it really bothers you try a tiny bit of J B weld and when it is dry use a marker to make it black to match the handle. I probably won't bother though.

Mine is right up to the handle. Think of it as getting a one of a kind. It will not affect the function at all. Just give Dan a hard time if it will not fit in his sheath!! If it had a bright yellow handle it could be a different story!
