If that Scrap Howler..is 1/4 or thicker..I would buy if in a heart beat!!!! Please Dan....listen to the cries of Dogs!
Gravelface,
Have you tried Swamp Rat's current HRLM? or their previous Howling Rat resiprene?
their 3/16" thick blades are pretty darn substantial.
waddya plan on tackling with your ~4" knife? railroad box cars?! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have 3 of the old ones...one being the Howling FAT!! My personal favorite!...I don't really like the handle on the new line from the swamp except for the CHoppers...(go figure). And I attack everything...never know when an uppity railcar is going to terrrorize the neighborhood!

We have a little knife and the bowie coming out soon what we really need is a
nice thick minimojo like the one on the table.

It is a great time to buy a battlerat as they seem undervalued compared to similar knives.

Am I the only one who thinks RES C looks better than micarta? I know it has advantages and disadvantages in usefullness but I just like the look better.
I don't much like the fancy tigerstripe micarta either. I may have to buy a S7
SS4 just to compare the mudder and the resC (rationalization maybe).

I always thought that the micarta looked nicer and more valuable, but the Res-C sure feels better. I think the micarta makes the knife look more expensive, especially to the average knife buyer that isn’t used to high-end knives. Because since micarta is expensive, you don’t see it on “junk knives”, but you see a lot of cheap rubber handled knives. (which is what Res-C looks like to the uninformed)
