I recently told my parents, “Ya know, growing up I’d of never thought someone would spend over 100 million dollars to turn one of my childhood cartoons into a movie.” “What’s next? He-Man? Thundercats?” I thought Transformers looked like it’d have really neat special effects. That was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid.

I still have all my original toys too. I was always an inquisitive type, so when I was a kid and got a new transformer, I liked to try to figure out how to transform it without looking at the instructions. I always thought they were cool because they were like two toys in one. Why have a Tonka truck, (although I had those too) when you could have a truck that turns into a robot?

It’s been many years, so I don’t remember what all ones I have, but I remember I have the Optimus Prime one, the boombox one with the cassette tapes, a space shuttle one, cars, etc.

And on a related robot note, I still have my Voltron toys too.

I took my kids to see it. It was pretty good. It was entertaining for all ages which made it an all around great flick.

Hehe, actually Andy, yes. Thundercats a CGI version will be out in a couple of years, and another live-action Masters of the Universe is due out as well, all in the next 2-3 years.

All of these bring back good memories to me, and I have seen Transformers 3 times so far.

I took my lady to see it last Wednesday and we both loved it. Great action, silly jokes, and giant fighting robots. What more can you ask for?

On another note, anyone got any idea what that J J Abrams 1-18-08 movie is? Imdb.com has some pretty funny and some very good theories about what it might be. A new Godzilla seems to be the popular guess.
