Holy crap... I just spent over an hour writing a response here and when I hit submit. I received a message stating: "response no longer valid". I hit my back button and it was gone. I can't rewrite it right now. Wasted time and frustrated.

I had provided a lot detail about my own Cheness Kaze Katana which I love. It is gorgeous, but too big for any practical use. I also had some info about my Crizwell Wakizashi, and desire to have an SR77 Scrap-Ruck-Kizashi.

I really like the long tanto and sheath above. Would like more info.

Maybe some day I will learn to copy long posts before hitting submit....

Compose them in a text edit application and then copy paste to the browser.

Unsub, you are right about Vikings mainly using axes- swords were a rich man's status symbol.. Your battle axe also chopped the wood back home!

A yard parang/waki' might be cool..

I would buy a Scrap Yard bearded axe in a heartbeat.

There are two types of sword owners-

the ones who collect pretty things, and occasionally do practice cuts in between fondling their stuff.

The ones who use their sword as a machete, thrower, camp Knife, and log splitter.

I am of the second group. I have seen a shiny AK47. I think it costed 3X as much as a coated model. If the looks are so important then it might be worth the money.

I did not even know a shiny AK existed. Now something else to lust after.

When that form no longer valid happens you can back page and hit the F5 button and most of the time your post is still there. If you are worried just copy your whole post to your notepad(just click on the whole post and then right click and copy).
Then if it disappears you just right click and paste and it is right back.

Here are some of the photos of my Cheness katana I promised.
Knifeguy I would love some info on your Kaze and Chiswell. I really considered a Kaze especially now that they sell the blade as a shirasaya but went with the through hardened because it is supposed to be tougher. Those Chiswells are really nice and I do need a Wak to complete my set.

Here is my sword,it still needs a hybrid polish and some work to the saya before it is finished.

Here is a photo of the wrap. The menuki is 3 monkeys, hear speak and see no evil.
The wrap is brown silk and the same is black rayskin.

This is my current daisho (large and small sword)

This photo gives you a good veiw of the Take style tsuba(guard). The tsuba is not to stop a sword but to keep your hand from the blade.

This is not mine(I wish)but is another tsuba this one is a real antique I think from the 1400's that has real gold.

I know Last Legend makes some [censored] tough katanas. As for Medieval swords, Albion is probably the best. Both are as expensive or more than a Busse but neither of them use steel that can compare to INFI or SR77.

Unsub, that's a nice sword. Is the fitted tsuba a traditional style? The display tsuba is a beaut- now that would grace any good blade! I do like your alternative dai-sho..

The tsuba is a copy of a traditional design called a "Take" but I don't know anything about it. Repro jap swords are an awesome deal as they are cheap plentiful and very very good. The real ones called ninhonto are ridiculously overpriced. Te demand is just insane and the japanese government banned taking them out of Japan. If you want a real sword 19th century euro swords are cheap and some are truly incredible. They are also much better weapons than ninhonto.
