I still haven't cut anything but paper with it, I hold a piece of copy paper and test it by push cutting tip, middle and rear of the blade. if it cuts without a snag it is a sharp enough blade for me.
That HOOK is amazing! It gives what Dan called a FAST feeling. He described it to a tee. It just feels fast. I wear mine in my Red Kydex clip sideways cross draw. So it rides on my left hip lengthwise with my belt.
The rainwalker lanyard dangles tantalizing close to my front left pocket. making it more than clear that this 6'1" 300 pound idiot has a 12 inch blade in hard RED Kydex slapped across his belt! I love it. Talk about stares!!!!
I do NOT wear it when I know people will be around. To the gas station, the donut shop. But that's about it.
Next topic...the SS-4. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Dave, That hook is an awesome blade. I wasn't sure about the hook at first but I've grow quite fond of it myself. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I just can't imagine it now, in any other color sheath, it just seams to fit so well with Red... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

This is why orange G10 is an awesome handle material. Hard to lose.

Wow that is some colour. I have a 02 Honda 919 sport bike(grey) and was at the Honda dealer today and they had a new 07 919 that was the sexiest colour of dark metallic red I have ever seen. I totally was reminded of it by your sheath.
I had seen photos of the new paint colour on the bike in magazines but in person it was way better. I imagine your sheath is the same.

I love my hook ,it is my favourite big knife and it even replaced my DF. I occasionally EDC it as well. I carry my knives in my backpack even when it is just a SS4 so looks are not a problem. I like the hook much better than the yard guard.
It looks better and makes a great thumb rest.

I finally got a decent photo of my Hook and sheath yesterday.

The clip attaches to the inside pocket of my pack so I can yank out the knife easily.
