It was good. Even my wife admitted to liking it, afterwards. Was based on a book by one of my favorite authors, which I didn't realize until I saw the credits. Thought the plotline seemed familiar....There was a scene where he spraypaints his weapons to match the terrain. My wife dug that, as we have kryloned a dozen or so rifles, shotguns, knives and sheaths in the past year.
It is definitely worth the price of admission, which pretty much works out to the price of a DVD, these days.

I liked it. The conspiracy story, some strong performances, and lots of action.
Mr. Wahlberg could have used some more firearms instruction though. The scene where he's reloading on the run comes to mind, as does the horrible jerking trigger style from a supposed Recon Sniper gunny? Hah.

Overall, worth a see for sure.

I think all Hollywood films could use additional firearms consulting. The only real shot that bugged me was the head shot in the moving vehicle deal from that distance(don't want to spoil too much for those who have not seen it). But alas, it's a movie.
I agree it was a pretty good movie.

hmm.. will have to put on my "To See" list.I like Wahlberg.

One of my favorite gun scenes is Val Kilmer's firefight with the police in "Heat".. he does a great job reloading his M4!

I really liked Shooter as well. Not life changing but very entertaining.Makes you wonder how many rednecks with to many guns are out there with those kind of skills. The record for longest kill by a sniper is a canadian soldier at over 2200 meters in Afghanistan.

I would like a really accurate long range bolt action probably in .300wsm.
I would love .338 Lapua like the canadian snipers but 6$ a round takes a lot of the fun out. Another drool worth rifle is the Les Baer super varmint AR15 with a guaranteed 1 half MOA in .223 or 204 Ruger. I would get one in 223 for cheap surplus rounds. Coyotes beware. They cost more than my last car though.

I think my alltime fave right now is the club scene from "Collateral" where Tom Cruise's character doubletaps a guy, reloads, and hits him again. | | |

Almost all of Michael Mann’s movies have great gun play in them. Heat and Collateral are both awesome and even Miami Vice had some good gun play in it even though the movie kind of sucked.
Another good movie that shows lots of good gun handling and tactics is The Way of the Gun.

I will have to check Shooter out.
