Maybe I'm just guilty of wishful thinking, but I think it will be the long-awaited DFLE, and I think it will be soon.

I was not looking forward to the DFLE that much until I got my Yard Keeper LE.
Now I really want mister big bad and shiny.

I was pretty sure the next knife was going to be the YKCG?
Does anyone else remeber Dan saying the KeeperCG would be the next knife besides me?

What does Jerry have to do with the DFLE? I thought Dan made all the Scrappers even the shiny ones?

I noticed no one wants a medium blade it is all big or small votes. That makes sense I guess after the Guards.

Unsub, I would love a Scrap Yard version of the Camp Tramp. The Scrapper 7 would be fine with me, too.

I'm gunna take an out side guess that the DFLE has been a more long term project that was started along side the regular DF. Which means the blades were done then and they just needed to be finished. If that's the case then Dan may have been slowly working on them on and off for the past several months. Some or all could be ready soon?

On the other hand a 7+ incher would be interesting as well.

And if it's something small I'll be content as well, I'm really not very concerned about the size. I know eventually Dan will cover the whole spectrum, some will just have to wait longer than others for their dream size and shape.

I'm just an SYKCO sharp pointy thing nut, so if Dan makes it, and it cuts, I'm probably gunna want it.

I agree, Jeff. Dan clearly has said on several occasions that he was "working on it" (the DFLE). He has even mentioned that it was taking more time than expected. You know that Bruce tends to be a little less than optimistic on occasion.

... Does a large blade require that much more time to finish than a small blade? I'm not a knifemaker, so I can't answer that question.
I'm not a knifemaker either, but I play one on the internet. The answer is YES. A big blade has a lot more surface area to grind. Maintaining a straight, even high saber grind is difficult and requires some skill and patience. It is done by hand. Doing a full flat grind on a 4" blade is much easier. I have seen some of your custom grind work at Blade, Jeff, so I know that you are aware of this.

With the skinny shaker out I think a D2 edc is less likely but I think it'll come eventually.. As we have had the DM and YK recently the the two 7.5" blades maybe we'll get another monster? The S9 could have uses! Or Vic's much lamented DFLE..

Right you are Vic!! Having dabbled in knife making, I have a great deal of respect for makers of fine polished blades. It is one of, if not the most tedious task involved in the process. The DFLE is 2 1/2 times the lenght of the Keeper and no dought would take 2 1/2 times as long to finish. There's just now way to rush a good polish job.
