Stripped my gray RatManDu today. It has a long, hideous scar, the Mark of Mandu on my NudeManDu. I did not sand it at all, just stripped it and gave it the Scotchbrite wheel. I can just imagine when the worker did it.. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />"Woops, oh well, the paint will cover it".

If its ever stolen, you can use it as an "identifying mark."

Well - it looks great naked, Vic - I guess you'll just have to use the heck out of it and scar it up - then it'll blend in!

Vic,
I can't believe that you beat me, I stripped mine yesterday and I was working on the polish, mine didn't have any marks but it is not yet completely polished. I'll post it when I'm done.

By the way, I followed your tutorial.

Only the tang retains the Mark of Mandu. Used 80 grit on the flats, followed by 80 micron and blending with Scotchbrite.

Very nice work HD!
You have it all...the know how and the equipment, to produce a very nice finish.

Now that its naked, you might want to get some pants on that thing before he catches a chill <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
