I found a picture of a leather sheath...I was thinking this would be great, if one could be made to hold my Leatherman wave. Anyone see anything wrong with this method of carry?? ![[Linked Image from img.photobucket.com]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v488/BRAMEL/sheath.jpg)

The pancake style type sheaths are what I carry my 1911's in. The only downside to that style vs. one where the belt attachment is behind and not to the side of the sheath is the pancake style takes up more room on your belt. I find that the pancake style tends to distribute weight better which is why I carry my 1911's in them, they are heavy. For a lightweight tool like a multi-tool, I would probably get something that took up less real estate since I usually have other stuff on my bat belt.

Leather is very traditional and can be very good looking (such as the one in your pic.) Here is one sold by AG Russell - ![[Linked Image from agrussell.com]](http://www.agrussell.com/var/storage/variations/image/p/h/p/phpHyxENN_550-.75x550_137869.jpg) Very reasonable though I do not own one and can't vouch for its Quality. If you Custom order I would suggest a strong side carry with a forward kant. Good luck.

looks like a bit of angle to that one, I use the standard sheath my leatherman came with, but would like to see one that relly pulled the mass in close to my hip and not bouncing and wiping around when I move.

I like the look of the angle on that nice pancake.
I am short on thoughts but make up for it by having so many opinions.

The leather looks nice, but I do like to use the original sheath carried horizontally.

i was worried about that. i carried mine for about a week straight right after i got it to get used to it and noticed some wear (more than I would have expected) around the corners. currently it is living in my maxpedtion bag that goes with me everywear, but may need to think about a leather sheath should i start to carry it on me again.

I found a picture of a leather sheath...I was thinking this would be great, if one could be made to hold my Leatherman wave. Anyone see anything wrong with this method of carry?? I've carried a Leatherman Wave for several years and now I carry a Surge. The first thing I always do is make a new sheath to suit my needs and hold up to the abuse I will put it through. The factory one's never meet my needs, or hold up.

I’ve been wearing my Leatherman Ti Charge in the factory sheath daily for many months now, and before that I carried the PST II for many years with no problems wearing out. In fact, I originally bought an extra PST II sheath in case my primary one ever broke or wore out, but it never did.

bramel, i like that sheath a lot, especially the angle it rides at. the slots to the side like that should keep the tool close to your body. i have a couple of sheaths like that, which i like for that reason. including, of course, one for my bulldog!
