That wouldn’t be too bad of an idea. As long as people were really contributing things and not just randomly posting multiple replies etc. Who would do such a thing?

I mean actively participating in a conversation, not posting 20-30 posts in a row with one word or less each to pad a post count for instance. If several people did something like that, the forum would become so flooded with posts it would become difficult to navigate and find any significant conversation among the meaningless posts. It would be counterproductive to the purpose of a forum, which is for conversation, not inane pointless “thread bombing” posts.

Most people who would want a dogfather enough to do that probably would have something interesting to say. From the stats on the "how many mutts" thread there are not that many serious posters so it would be fairly easy to see that the dogs all got one.
