Huh?!

Remember GF, Paul is from England, where they used to use battle-axes, some with spikes on the top-end. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Yep our old battle axes and polearms often had long stilletto spikes on top for getting through the gaps in armour to finish off a knight... Gil Hibben (to the best of my knowledge) is an American knife maker though who makes lower end throwers etc.

I'd love to see a Scrapyard Khukuri. 13" blade, 5" Res-C handle, 3/8" thick SR-77.

Also a Scrapyard Machete. 18" blade, 5.5" Res-C handle, 3/16" thick SR-77.

The OLD British Army pattern parang 'Golok' in decent steel (sorry Martindale but it could be so much better!) would be a truly great heavy working blade.

If it could be made in res-C and SR77 (using 3/16 or 5mm stock) with a taper from around 4.5/5mm thick at the grip edge to around 3/3.5mm toward the tip it would be a chopper to re-write the book... The typical dog hardness would be ok I think, rather than going softer.

I have been noodling my own Golok....

5160 or A2 steel with a nice convex edge...have a "thinnish" blade around .125 or so...MAYBE go up to 5/32 if tha feeling hits me

hmm I really need a Golok...anyone got one? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
