I know the scissors suck on the sog (I replaced it with the web cutter) but I haven't tried the saw yet; is it because their so small scrappy? it looks nice and sharp and strong.

Thank you so much for your input and by the way W E L C O M E to The Yard!
I haven't checked this thread since I bought my Wave on E-Bay and didn't see your input until now. Sorry .... my regrets. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I should see it by Saturday if he sent it right away, but some plans fall through I understand. But for sure sometime next week I will see it and I can't wait!

I have been wearing a really crappy one every day since to get used to having one. The only trouble I have had so far is when I need emergency work on my Oreck Commercial I need a longer screw bit to reach inside the undercarriage of the unit. I looked at first on E-Bay for a extension kit from Leatherman but found none. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
Perhaps a trip to Wally World or Ace or even Lowes might turn up the kit new in my own town.... no waiting! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Rainwalker... I hate you for pointing out that the overpriced Surge has a endless number of attachments to add post purchase. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

I'll remember that Jeff! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Again you three Pups..thanks for the comments and PLEASE stay here! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />
This Yard Rocks! It is the friendliest forum in the world and we always need new blood to spice up our conversations so thank you all so much for chiming in!

Great Day to all, I will post again here when it arrives with my comments. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Peace.

I've only seen the Leatherman extension bit at the Leatherman web site. Nobody else seems to cary them. I don't know why. I think the extension should be sold with the tools that have that stupid short socket. Just as a new Leatherman Wave/Core/Surge is always sold with a sheath, it should always be sold with that bit extension.

What can I say I saw your thread too late... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" />

The Surge isn't much more than the Wave.. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />..guess it depends on what you find. The Surge is worth the extra IMHO... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I don't go anywhere without my Surge... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I got my Wave from Leatherman. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Love the tools, need a three inch extension for the screwdriver useless without it. I do not like the leather sheath at all. It is so annoying I haven't worn it several time because it is so nasty. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
It rides way to high on my side and cuts into my love handles all day long to the point where I rip it off the minuet we get home. It is alot heavier that I thought it would be as well. I didn't think the weight would be a issue but it annoys me. Not as much as that [censored] sheath though. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />May need to consult Jeff on that. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
If it rode lower below the belt instead of being attached mid way through the sheath it wouldn't bug me so.

Pluses? Sure. It is a tank. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /><img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

It has each and every item made into a liner lock so it locks solid as can be all by itself. Wonderful tidbit I never knew. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Worth the price of admission to me. Great blade selection and all are insane sharp.
Tried to shave hair and it bit into my arm and I gushed worth a line of blood for about three minutes till I clotted.
I won't try that soon again. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />
Great for almost anything that comes up I love it overall, but if I can wedge it into one of my knife sheaths and wear it off my belt I'd be much happier.

Many thanks to all my guides who sent me to Leatherman Tools... I am impressed!

Peace.

PoP,

I've never much cared for the feel of Leathermans stock sheaths. I always make my own with a clip, and compartments for the necessary gadget attachments and whatever else I want to cram in there with it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

There are alternatives on the extention... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> With a little handy work with a file you can convert one of the more common magnetic extentions that you can get at the hareware store, Lowes or Home Depot to work in a pinch... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I love my Wave, but was a little dissapointed with the quality of the sheath, although i do like that i can wear it horizontally or vertically.
