2,000 lumen Surefire Light – “Only” $7000!

Yikes! And I thought the regular Surefires were expensive! I hadn’t seen or heard of this light until I saw it today. Has anyone else seen it? I bet it’d be AMAZING brightness to see in person. Though I’m sure it eats batteries FAST! Why on earth wouldn’t they make it have a rechargable battery? And I dunno about you, but I think it’s UGLY. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Not sure how practical something like that would be. I though my 10 million candle power light from Cost Co for $25 was overkill, but...

Yeah, it sounds crazy overpriced. I also have a 10 million CP light. I’ve recently seen a 100 million CP spotlight! Most spotlights aren’t cordless though. Although I have one that is, it’s 1 million CP I believe.

They actually do make it with a rechargeable battery. But I think if someone can afford to spend $7000 on a flashlight then buying batteries probably won't bother them.

how many batteries does it take? i saw the 500 lumen model takes like 10 surefire batteries. and still only lasts 20 minutes.

Twenty. Or a rechargeable handle.

Here's a link with some info. I'm pretty sure it's all right.

Despite its name, SureFire Beast II Spotlight is only 15.5 inches long and weighs just 4.5 pounds — quite manageable with one hand. But Surefire Beast-Light B1R can crank out a 2,000-lumen beam of tightly-focused white light, which is roughly equivalent to 130 two D-cell flashlights.

wouldn't it be easier to tape togehter 130 cheap flashlights?
