Well finally made it out to goldstream park out here. We (my friend and I) decided to walk out to it from our downtown home and its basically all highway. The walk was slightly longer then expected so we were both tired by the time we got there, turned out it was a 20km trip roughly. We got to the grounds after dark and were soon informed that the entire was filled, we were devastated. A short walk back to the highway and we figured it out, set up camp on the side of the road and wait for morning. To keep our presence unnoticed we did not set up a proper camp and only layed out a blanket for me and a chair for my friend. The night was long, hard and surprisingly cold, around 1am we discovered there was a cougar just outta view, it stayed there most of the night but never came at us. Next day we walked back to the grounds early and found ourselves a spot. The fun begins. We had a great time and I managed to cut myself twice (woops ) Couldnt get many pics because of the situations but I'll share what I have and maybe get our video diary (very short) up as well

Looks fun. Too bad you couldn't get a pic of the cougar.

Cool. Last minute trips are often the most fun.

I agree last minute trips are a great time. My most fondest memories back as a yoot were on those spontaneous trips. Getting out thereand doing something is the key.

My Eureka tent has worked well even though it's not considered a "hig end" tent. I have used it in snow down to about 15 degrees below freezing, no leaks or issues. I have a Sierra Designs Light Year solo tent and a couple of family tents.
