Very very nice Ted. I, of course, want one too!

Email John @ http://dervishknives.com I'm sure he'll be happy to make one for you. Ted Frizzell does the grinds on these. I think they are the perfect urban sword. Fairly short, double edged, G-10 handles. The only thing I'm a little concerned about is the weight, it's 1/4" 5160(Would be really cool to have it in SR-77 )

A Chris Reeves Mountaineer II. I keep saying that but it's really on the short list. The only problem is that something else comes along and pushes it aside.

I would take Spyderco any day of the week over CRKT.

I haven't been overly impressed with the overall performance of CRKT.

Spyderco's QC and performance are top notch...

im about to pull the trigger on a bark river mini canadian

You'll love it I predict. If this will be your first Barkie, be prepared for superb fit and finish. If you've other Barkies, well, you already know that.

I'd give my left.....well, nevermind. I want to keep all my parts, but I sure wish I'd jumped on the original Mean Streets when it was available. On second thought, if I had jumped on a Mean Streets, I might have lost some of my favorite parts.

Absolutely No Question - when comparing quality of workmanship, quality of blade, fit and finish, and many other details. Spyderco is one of the best in my opinion.

I have mentioned before, I think Spyderco knives are VERY good. But, for me personally, the thumb-holes ruin it for me and many of their designs fall short of what I want. So, I tend to have to look at other makers.

I prefer Benchmade over Spyderco because of what I consider better designs (for me). I do consider "some" Benchmade knives to be of equal quality to Spyderco. The Rukus is one and there are plenty of others.

CRKT is not in the same league as Spyderco or Benchmade (at least not 95% of the time.)

But, I do EDC a CRKT Apache that I consider to be a good "design" with a good blade. The blade is ATS-34 and has been more than satisfactory for my uses. The blade design is not my first choice, but it is good.
The catch for me in regards to the Apache was that I made many modifications and customizations to the Apache to make it my EDC. The knife out of the box was a little rough around the corners for me. But, the design was such that I could make the modifications and customizations and make pretty close to what I consider an ideal EDC.
It is not what I consider "Perfect".
There are some things I would prefer to change still, but with my modifications, it is pretty close and very good for the money (for me).

.

Good for you, Bruce. Rangers aren't finished as nicley as some brands, but you get a lot of good steel with micarta handles for a good price. I love my Rangers.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.
