So, what is your current EDC?

Mine is a small fixed blade, the Karda by Daniel Koster. The Karda is made of O1 steel. Blade is 1/8 inch thick and just over 3 1/4 inches long. Scales are green canvas Micarta. Sheath is Kydex.

SS4 or one of the 2 new folders I got in the mail yesterday, either the waved Commander(wave is awesome)or the Spydy Chinook depending on whether I can get away with a fixed blade or not. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Busse Skeleton Warden. Carry it every day without fail. Might have to mod it, tho. The pics of the polished spine mod and the inserts mod look so good, I may have to do both to mine!

I pretty much ALWAYS carry my 3" framed SAK Executive.
I find the 2.25" SAKs to be way to small for my liking and the 3.5" - 4" SAKs are too large for my front pockets (poke out too much).
The 3" SAK Executive gives me most of the tools I like to use. I use the scissors and tweezers a lot and occassionally the flat head tip and flat phillips.

*** I just wish the blades were decent knife steel and the tools were decent tool steel!!!!

When wearing dress pants, I can't usuaully carry much else. Sometimes I throw in my Kershaw - Ken Onion Leek or Chive for fun.

But, when wearing casual pants, jeans or shorts, I always have a 2nd "REAL" knife.

For me, my primary EDC is always a folder unless I am camping, hiking or hunting.
If camping, hiking or hunting, I will often have 2 - 3 knives.

- I usually have a larger 3.5" - 4" SAK (or leatherman), a "Real" folder and a fixed.
The fixed blade is usually a 4" - 5" blade.
But, that is where the "which week is it" thing comes in!
Sometimes I want a big chopper.... many more to choose. But, currently, my large chopper is my (personally made satin) Battle Rat. (Truth comes out.... I am missing one of the most significant Scrap Yard knives....) I passed on the Dog Father because I thought the DFLE would be shortly behind it and I didn't want to have to strip it myself. So, I have been waiting..... and waiting....

My current rotation of "REAL" folders are:

- Heavily modified CRKT Apache
- Heavily modified RUKUS
- And I am wanting to start carrying my Lone Wolf Tighe that I have also modified. But, I need to adjust (modify) the clip some. It is currently too tight.

I have lots of other folders that I consider very good and worthy. But, there is always some little detail I want to change, customize, and/or modify and I haven't wanted to modify so many of them.... yet.

I used to EDC a Kershaw Ken Onion Whirlwind that I only had to lightly modify. Still a good EDC choice.

Others with great EDC potential (for me):

- Al Mar - SERE 2000 (a little too bulky/thick, but awesome and very well made knife)
- Benchmade - McHenry & Williams
- Benchmade - TSEK large with axis lock
- Boker - Brend
- Delta Z - Osprey Scale release D/A (....but, not legal to carry. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />)
- EDI - Genesis I
- Kershaw - Ken Onion - Boa
- Spyderco - Military (WISH it had a thumb stud and not a hole)
- Spyderco - Terzuola (WISH it had a thumb stud and not a hole)

.

usually a pioneer, sheeple friendly. today i had the subcom as well, and i had it out in the open, no one even recognized a knife. pretty cool. i usually don't carry two knives. come to think of it, i have a vic rally on my keys (like the classic with a screwdriver/cap lifter instead of scissors) so that makes three! that's a record for me.

Lately, either my HRLM or RatManDu each in a sheath from Dwayne, Muddy Game Warden, Leatherman Ti Charge, and one of those Swisstools on my keyring that look like a key but opens to be a knife, bottle opener, and screwdrivers.

Oh, and I also EDC all this crap. My pants weigh like 10 lbs. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Currently. . .
Spyderco Military BG42/CF
Jester on keys. . .

Normally I would also have a Fixed blade on my left side, but my hand is still kind of messed up.

S&W 642 w/CT Grips.
Taurus PT1911

Sometimes I will carry my BATACLE

Well today I EDC'd the new Chinook and I am really liking this knife. It has a real solid snap when the lock kicks in. I love the wicked blade and the G10 although all the bells and whistles don't make it a better fighter than say an Endura it sure is nice to have them. I can't bring myself to ride the bike with a folder this expensive clipped to my pants though.

I'm not allowed to carry anything sharp, or metal (aside from car keys) to work. I cannot even bring in silverware. And since I'm searched every morning when I go in I would be able to get away with smuggling.

When not at work I carry around my RatManDu when I'm on my property. If we have to go somewhere then I've got a Benchmade Auto Folder that goes into my right front pocket, Sig 229 on my right hip, spare magazine and Surefire Aviator on my left hip.

When I'm travelling somewhere that's restrictive then I usually end up carrying either my SAK Explorer, or my swiss Champ.

Vance, there's a long way to go yet. 365 days in a year.<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Rainwalker, I was like you worried when I started reading this thread... nobody carries more than three??? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> C'mon guys be honest...and in your car?

Thank God for a rotation that allows variation I'd go Wiggy without the options to change daily. Some stay but that front right pocket is always up for grabs. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Knife show this Saturday...mmmmmmmmmmmore blade steel. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Peace.

Well, there is almost no point in little ole me answering at this point, but, for what its worth...

the Al Mar Falcon, usually clipped to a pocket, but conveniently clips anywhere i need to clip it.
ToolLogic card.
small, very old pocket knife of undetermined maker that belonged to my great grandmother.

During the winter I have a timberline that goes in my coat pocket.
This does not count vehicle blades, of course.

For a couple weeks I EDC'd my HookGuard with the sheath clipped to the bottom of my backpack so I could just yank the handle and it would come loose. This was really more to try out the carry system I rigged up but I did feel pretty safe.

Today I have been wearing the Chinook3 clipped to my pants. Now thats a folder ,it works with all the same back cuts and snap cuts the hookguard does. It is like a modern version of those folding bowies. I love the little hook at the end of the handle. It fits just perfect in your pocket and is very easy to get out even with a secure clip.Mr Keating put a LOT of thought into this folder.

I also usually have my trusty SS4 in my pack along with a Fenix L1P and my new Samsung Upstage.

TKC,

Hey Suzanne, Charles May just called I couldn't believe it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

He said he wants to make you a better knife and asks that you promptly send the one he shipped in error to me here in Wisconsin. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I told him..."Charles she will never believe me!" and then he gave me a secret word to say to you so that ONLY you will know that it was true. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

The word is......Barabajackel. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

So if you P.M. me now I will be glad to give you my home address to ship that crummy knife to at once. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for understanding, <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Peace.

Sorry! I also carry a Vic farmer and a large classic Sebbie. In my wallet are a Swiss card, and an EU cutlery knife/fork set.
I hope you're more somber now. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

In addition to my Dan Koster Karda, I carry an Ontario TAK in the glove compartment of my car, if that counts.

Just started carrying a cold steel voyager XL, with a 5" blade.
Also, my new pelican LED light, in desert tan.

TKC,

That Hinderer looks great.

Can you provide more info?

Dimensions, name of the knife, cost?

Thanks.

Nevermind.

I found it in about 20 seconds worth of searching.

Rick Hinerer Knives

I just sold a Benchmade Hinderer design. It is a great design, but I had to let it go.

Benchmade versions are obviously way cheaper than custom Hinderer folders <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

But, I should have known ...... XM-18 = $385.00

Still an awesome knive.... but out of my price range. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Good for you though! It looks nice! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
