[quote]No knife in public with a blade of 4 inches or more. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

I'll have to enjoy my blades in private.

Four inches is less restrictive than I thought in NYC. I thought their limit was 3.5 inches. Personally, I could live with the keeping private part too. Sometimes it's better to hold your cards close to your vest, at least in my opinion.

Where in the Big Apple will you be living? Wherever you end up, please say hello to everyone for me.

Welcome aboard, Gryps! I'm a newbie, too. This forum is great.

I noticed that on your profile you put Kniferights.org as your URL. Are you an associate of Doug Ritter? I have really enjoyed reading through his website at Equipped.com, and his PSK was my constant companion in Yosemite this Summer.

I live in the LA County area and I stumbled across a little known LA City munical code section mandating that any concealed knife blade be UNDER 2 inches. I have read elsewhere that the largest open carry knife blade permitted is 3 inches. It's quite sad.

Not an associate, just a fan of ETS and Kniferights. I figured if there was room for a url, might as well make good use of it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I'll be up in Inwood, in Northern Manhattan (technically could walk to the Bronx) close to Inwood Park for the time being.

Per city regs, the blade has to be less than 4 inches.

That is outrageous! All of those (illegal)guns, and they think restricting blade length is going to improve safety...

Carry a small Vic "classic" for the odd job that needs to be done in public.

Can't go wrong with the Swiss, I actually EDC a SwissSpirit in my workbag (generally out of sight). Tend to do the multitool thing in public (Leatherman if I'm not working). I also EDC a small locking folder that's ideal for pocket carry. It keeps my wallet company.

If you have lurked for anytime at all like you said the Dog Father is the absolute beast of the knife world. It eats any and all items.

This blade would make a hatchet run for cover and a Axe blush with envy. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

It is far and away the best bang for the buck in the knife world. Mine has groomed my entire yard, and cuts several hundred pounds of Pine tree limbs with ease. Sharpens back up to arm hair sharp in seconds. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Only bad hing about the Dog Father is they don't make them now.Secondary market is the only place to find one. But just you wait Gryps, the next Scrap Yard blade will be out by October I'll bet and YOU will be here reading the post that Dan Busse makes 48 hours before and then 24 hours before the sale of the next offering.
Save a little space on your card for a blade! What ever it is it will be worth twice what Dan charges for it new. He's a sweetheart like that!

Welcome to The Yard Gryps!!! Enjoy your stay! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Peace.

Music to my ears (or more appropriately perhaps, art to my eyes)!

I am a big fan of my Leatherman Wave for public use. My Endura 4 stays hidden from view.
