I was reading this thread at the blade forum and they say some interesting things about the asymetric edge on some of the older Busse's.

Since Busse and Swamp Rat are both doing full convex edges, I think a Dog Father would be a perfect way to experiment with the Asymetric edge.

Would it be possible to make a small batch of CG's ground that way?

I would love to compare two Dog Fathers with different edges.

Arf arf arf... That's my other dog impression.

I don't think they are full convex, I have a some older Blackjacks that are full convex and Hi kruks and they are very very sharp. So far, my CT and HR and the rest of the rats are fine for what they are intended for, my NO-E is asymetric and a class of its own. I would welcome some Limited version in zero edge, or asymetric instead. Any edge is good here, just keep em coming...

I put V edges on mine, and they work great. No damage from batoning frozen logs or chopping.

What do you guys use to put the V?

Then what do you use to maintain (sharpen) it?

I freehand sharpen them. Here's a pic of the tools I use to profile/sharpen with:

I haven't a clue as to how to sharpen a knife. What is the eraser for?
