with all these stripped and naked and LE blades out there... how is the corrosion resistance of SR77.

I stripped and worked some SR101 before, and it seemed to rust in my hands in just a few minutes...

kinds makes me wonder, will I need to keep her oiled every minute?

I'd wipe them down w/ Sentry Solutions Tuf Cloth - great stuff - I did a thread on it recently if you want to search it.

My edges haven't ever as much as stained, but I don't have any satin Scrappers.

The one to ask is Horn Dog, (may he return soon, in good health) he is in a warm humid enviroment and he striped many a blades. To my understanding a stain finish is a true finish in that it smothes out all the micro tiny bumps and valleys so there is no place for the moisture to collect and stay causing rust. In a self done job of stripping it is harder to get such a smooth finish and therefore the little valleys are nice pockets for water to do its damage.

I have used my DF in some damp conditions... I even used it to cut snow blocks last year! After that use it ended up wet and I missed some water in the sheath. The next morning it had some staining on the edge. It disappeared with a quick wipe down with polishing compound.

I haven't stripped any, but my Keeper LE is doing fine. I wiped it down with Tuff-Cloth when I got it.

I really haven't exposed it to any real extreme conditions though...

A warm salt water soak rusts and black marks sr77 a bit but it doesn't pit and cleans up well. I wouldn't have any serious worries over naked sr77- just keep a bit of oily rag handy (I spent a stupid amount of money getting a Busse Basic 7 (M-INFI) because I hate rust so much...) but I'd still probably take my beat up S6 over the Basic 7 most of the time!

My stripped SR77 blades are doing fine, but I store them in an air-conditoned house and coated them with Tuf Cloth. Some of my machetes that are stored out in the heat and humidity have rusted a bit. My neighbor's 16 year-old son has been using his Yark Keeper hard out in the yard. It only has a little staining. I just sharpened it for him recently. I gave him the YK for his birthday and he loves it, as he should. I have seen him chopping with it. BTW, I survived the surgeons knife-like object just fine. Still waiting on the biopsy. I accidentally pulled the stiches out in my sleep. No wonder I woke up so tired! I can't imagine how I did it wihout a knife or scissors. Very strange. That's worse than sleep walking.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Glad to hear you're doing alright Vic - you should have offered to sharpen their "instruments" for them before the operated

There is likely to be more cutting soon. I think I'll offer. I swear, you could go to a doctor nowadays with a broken leg and he'd find a cancer somewhere. Had skin cancer on my right arm and looks like I've got another one. The bumps on my head and neck are getting better, at least. I go back Thursday for another exam and to get the stitches removed. Boy will they be surprised when they can't find the stitches. I am still mystified. They are gone. No bleeding either, just gone.
