Reality is 6 one half dozen another, nobody here is going to break either blade. The one thing I will say is that you can get what you want when you want it from Justin, you don't have to sit here and wait like starving children waitng for our new blade. I can sketch something on a napkin and send it off to him and have it made. I hear a lot of great things about Scrapyard and I can't wait to get my hands on my S6, it will be my camp/go to knive and that is why I got it. Either way the blades are both extremely tough and you can't go wrong either way.... DAN GIVE US MORE STEEL

That is one question I had for Eric over at Swamprat and he couldn't answer it. My question is, if you break a tip on a Ranger you send it in and get it replaced, they offer a similar lifetime warrenty with Busse family however what if they no longer have those blades, what are you supposed to do?

We've been talking about that, we speculate they have backups for such occasions but it's so rare and far and few in between most of us should never need it. Busse's are the toughest, roughest, baddest blades in town, it's why we buy em

I've asked about that w/ RAT - I just got that RTAK and if I break it... they'll give me an RTAK II. Which I already have, and don't like quite as much

If I just bust an edge out on it, I'll probably just have it made in to a recurve!

Stan broke his DM? Any pictures of that??

The response I saw from Jerry about broken knives is that they will replace if possible. If they no longer have that style you will get a store credit for the ORIGINAL price of the knife.

I'd sure hate to break a classic that was originally worth not-so-much and is now worth 1,500+

I remember that one and yes it was answered. You are credited the original purchase price of the knife, not the market value, towards another Swamp Rat knife. So no, it doesnt pay to over abuse a discontinued Rat.

The early busses were very thick. 5/16" and at least 1/4" Even the badgers were robust as hell. What would you have to do to break one?

ranger is my favorite in the biz for that very reason.sometimes rangers get back ordered but at least justin will be honest with you about an "eta".

it seems that sy might be a hair ahead of ranger in ultimate performance but not in customer relations.think what you want but i dont find the busse family lines sales strategy[gimic}cute and i think it is all a marketing ploy that im sure has alienated potential customers before and i wish they would be more forth write with us.

i do respect them for their non apologetic attitude and of course for making no holds barred, no B.S. blades and their commitment to the military first.

justins customer service and willingness to personally speak with and help the customer and the fact that you can get one of his blades tomorrow has won my heart.imagine if we could get the best of both worlds in the two companies.
