I do not like the unpleasant smell that Fitz leaves behind. In fact, I will go so far as to say that it makes the knife stink.

I understand Rich!! I think Flitz smells better than my Marine Tuff Clothe!! My God, that thing stinks up the whole house! I am banned from using it IN the house.

Most of the time just some oil and a bit of care will do it, but carbon steel will always develop a patina. If sr77 just surface browns and doesn't pit, the rust will naturally protect the steel deeper in as oxygen can't then get to it.. The tang is well protected by the black coat and res-C so I figure my DF will see me into the grave and some (and I'm not that old!) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

i wonder what it's like for a producer to see someone say that about their product. compliments don't get much better than that. however i bet it's as good a compliment to see these things filthy, scraped up, and worn in.
