I just bought one with a signifigant mark up.

I am very impressed, it has it's weight forward, I think it will chop better than my M6. It has a Resiprene-C handle that fits me much better than the micarta handle on my M6.

Initially I didn't know what to think about SR-77 steel. I knew it was tough but I had no idea how it would perform in a bend test, so I went with what I knew and bough the M6 in SR-101.

I made a big mistake. I should have bought a couple of S6 LE's when they were available.

Now I have an M6 that is going to be sitting at the bottom of my Drawer unless I can trade it.

Bravo Scrap Yard.

This makes waiting for the Dog Father even harder.

Arf arf arf... That's my other dog impression.

I was fortunate enough to pick up a LE for cost on the After Market.....I have to agree...I don't really care for the handles of the new Swamps....when the Choppers come out....now that is a new ball game!

oooh.. i've been wanting to see a Scrapper 6 vs Mischief 6!

I missed out on the S6.
So feel free to post any and all impressions you may have! on either/both.

Do you feel the Scrapper 6 can function as a small "Camp Tramp"?

The Scrapper 6 LE rocks! I am sorry that I did not get a CG to go with the LE. I will not make that mistake with the Dog Father.

I got the Le and only want a CG.....just to have one.....no reservations about beating the bark out of it.

A small Camp Tramp is exactly what it is. With the plus and minuses.....The Camp Tramp is one of the most useful and practical blades I have owned, it is small enough to carry and is a good chopper for its size. The Scrapper 6 is a bit shorter and thicker (which I love) It is a decent chopper and feels like you could pry an armored door open with it. The edge on my LE has yet to be sharpenend and while it no longer is hair popping it still can shave. I look forward to most all blades the Yard releases.....really the Special Releases....these set it apart from everyone.

Oh yeah, man! The S6 LE is absolutely awesome! When I walked up to the Wauseon table during the opening rush that first Blade '06 morning, it was the FIRST blade that I bought. Fantastic zero edge grind! Classic CT feel in a fast, shorter and wider blade. I couldn't be happier (except with adding a Dogfather LE to the mix!)

I had been pestering Porkerson for a Rat version of the old NO-E. A perfect user size IMHO. Roughly six inch, wide blade, full-size grip, at least 1/4" wide. The first two offered from the Swamp and Yard?? Exactly what I had been yearning to purchase.

I, too, need to bite the bullet and buy a CG S6 since I can't bring myself to use the LE. There are a few Wauseon blades already in the user stable so I'm still cutting and chopping when I want!

I'm betting the S6 LE will go down like the Satin BR as one of the classics! Mine sure won't be going anywhere!

Questions..
Are the Scrapper 6 (coated) and Scrapper 6 LE ..the exact same size?
Or is the LE a bit thicker in any area?

Anybody have any rust/patina problems with the uncoated LE SR-77 steel?
You using it? or safe queening it?

Ok thanks,

I actually got two boxes last night. One had a pair of SOW's.

It's hard to say which box was better, two sweet, sweet recurved blades or my Scrapper 6 LE.

The SOW's are awesome, but I'll use the S6 and it didn't dent my bank account so much.

Ok,the SOW's win, but it was close.

Sorry... I've been safe queening mine. No rust or patina there. Progunner mentioned his being pretty susceptible to spotting but he is drunk most of the time so who knows?

My LE is thicker than 1/4". If I recall, it is more like .265 / .270".

Jason - Beat that baby! Show me some pictures of it in the Wauseon stump in your front yard!

I've not had any problems with my Crash Axe. As long as you keep it oiled/waxed it should be ok.
