I see your point... in extended cutting in high drag material (cardboard, flesh, etc) is tough with a thick blade... but the thickness is awesome for general stuff...

as a fighter/defense blade, the dmutt is the all that and a bag of chips imo...
but if you want thinner.. LE

we are unlikely to see a .140 again or thinner, as the reputation of strongest blade in the industry must be protected... and the web being flooded with broken thin blades would not be particularly sweet.

but i hear you and feel your pain... Dmutt LE will be thin enough for me... and my HO game warden may be as thin as they get

Maybe I'm missing something here but I have a S6 and I have the edge raised on it.From the bottom of the edge to the top of the edge where the coating starts,is 1/8".It is possibly one of the best cutters I own.I can cut cardboard, paper, wood, flesh, and also shave with it.And it's very durable;I've chopped everything from wood to concrete with it,with little to no damage.Scrapyard makes one hell of a knife!

I will make a prediction. My prediction is that Dan will never produce a Scrap Yard knife constructed of SR77 that is less than 1/4" thick. And as long as we're at it, I'll reiterate a prediction a made a little while ago. Other than the DMLE and possibly (but unlikely) the DFLE, we've seen the last of SR77 knives from Scrap Yard for awhile.

Are you hearing this, Karnak? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I hope your right!

I see Unsub's title for what it is, a clever way to get us to post. I imagine such a title would get you flamed big time over on the Busse forum..
Oh come on now, I hope you know better than that, have you ever honestly seen a flame war on the Busse forum???

I am getting concerned with the consistency of the "us vs. them" theme that rises here from time to time.

I've been with the Busse family since 2000, its one of the easiest going groups around. Since the Fusion line came to be the audience has changed, but its still one of the nicest places I visit.

I had assumed that this post was for the most obvious problem, the fact that tan knives have not been available to us on-line consumers!
Other than that, the second problem is the lack of green or gray.
As far as slicing, my yardkeeper is just wonderful. I have used it as a steak knife more than once. I have yet to need to resharpen it.

Or both! A run of green blade/black handle, and visa-versa, released at the same time.

S7 is one of the strongest steels you can make a knife out of and for some reason all the knives are so [censored] thick they don't cut very well.
Get a running start.

I would realy like a nice thin Hookguard that would be a lot better of a cutter and much faster in the hand as a fighter.
Grow stronger.

I think they're about perfect, but that could be me. the choil on my guard and hook are the perfect size for my fingers, so it's very comfortable for me to choke up on 'em when I need to, and I don't mind the weight at all. and how could anyone not love a recurve?

I'd definately like to see some of the smaller blades to be thinner. The Dumpster Mutt would have been great if it was 3/16. I guess that explains why I love the RatManDu so much.

In general I doubt I'll be doing any chopping with the any of the 6 inch or smaller knives. In that regard I'd much rather have them be slicers and have dimensions and geometry that reflect that.
