A nice, smooth cutting edge - burr free!

You can also convex and edge over time using a strop.

And, if I'm not mistaken, w/ your Busse blades, you want to strop the right side and use a rod on the left, because it is an asymmetrical edge. Anyone out there got the inside info on that??

they had used asymmetrical edges for a while, however they only use symmetrical edge now unless requested otherwise!

what was the reasoning behind the asym edges? I don't know about it.

I think they are saber ground or double bevel. Not convex.

me? I use the strop to finish most of my blades. i want the stones for smaller blades where i want a normal grind and not a convex edge.
