Just got back from a camping trip in Lincoln National Forest in NM (I will try to post some pics later).
As much a knife fanatic as I am, I have to admit my Fenix L2D's were easily my most used and most worthy tools on my trip (I had two - One for each my wife and myself).
I purchased the Fenix L2D Luxeon Rebel LED Premium 100 Digital AA flashlight, 6 Levels
Utilizes a Premium (100) Luxeon Rebel LED with a life of 50,000 hours Two modes of output, selected by turning the bezel (patented) - 6 Levels total General Mode: 11 lumens (55hrs) -> 50 lumens (10.5hrs) -> 100 lumens (4hrs) -> SOS Turbo Mode: 175 lumens (2.4hrs) -> Strobe Digitally Regulated for Constant Brightness Use two 1.5V AA ( Alkaline, Ni-MH, Lithium ) batteries , inexpensive and widely available 14.7cm (Length) x 2.1cm (Diameter) Made of aircraft grade aluminum Durable Type III hard anodized finish 56 gram weight (excluding batteries) Waterproof to IPX-8 Standard Toughened ultra clear glass lens with AR coating Push-button tail cap switch Input Voltage 1.0V - 4.2V Capable of standing up securely on a flat surface to serve as a candle

I also purchased two of the diffuser tips that were VERY worthy for converting the light into a mini-lantern / tent light, etc.
The L2D Luxeon Premium with multi-levels was Awesome!
I never really even needed the "Turbo" level. However - Low, Med. and High offered plenty of variety of function. Low was good in the car, tent and similar close uses when Medium was too strong. Medium was more than sufficient for walking around the woods outside of the camp site to gather wood and move gear to the camp site, hiking at night, and similar. I used Medium about 80% of the time. High was just for occasionally wanting a strong flood to look around at distances. High was nearly as strong as turbo. Probably less than 5% of the time.
Awesome TOOL!
5 days of camping and I never had to change the batteries once! Still strong!
5 Stars in my book!!!

If I could change anything, there really is only one thing I would change: I would have the SOS feature tied in with the Turbo, strobe features so I could click through low, med and high without having to click through SOS.
Also, I would like some sort of hands-free atachment. Maybe something I could attach to a hat or top of ear type piece. I often had to hold the light in my teeth to carry firewood and similar needs for both hands while needing light.
.... Anybody know of such a device?
Otherwise, hard to ask for much more.
If it weren't for the price, I would probably purchase another 2-4 more to have one in each car, each nightstand, kitchen, desk, etc.
..... I might still purchase some more someday and throw away a bunch of other now worthless flashlights.

KG, snag a petzl myo-XP headlamp. not as bright as the fenix, to be sure, but still very bright, has a few lighting modes, and a built-in diffuser for reading and stuff. as much as I love my flashlights, there are times when a headlamp is indispensable.

I have the L2D as well but if you want to get a great light at a great price get the Ultrafire with the 100 L rebel led. I think they are 22.00 at dealextream LOTSA great lights there I have a few and none dissapoint!

If you get the P2D (better than P1), and you get a L2D body (13 bucks) and the L1D body (12 bucks) and one tail cap of either LxD(7 bucks) then you have three interchangeable/multi-use lights!
You will have different size flashlights and strengths and your favorite batteries like your regular alkalines-1 or 2 cell AA, 1-2 CR123s, rechargables/NiMh, and Lithiums
Your own "Lego" flashlight for a great deal. But for all three you need the P2D body and tail and the bodies (and one tail) of the others, just one head fits em all; but the complete P2D is the cheapest of these.
Like stated here they have a "Premium" version that's even brighter, the Rebel series and Q2-Q5 series which are more expensive and IMO not worth it, My LxD Cree's (originals) are way bright enough!

The specs on the LD2 Rebel are fantastic,... but the body is just ugly to me.. So I had to pass.. If they make it a little prettier, I will likely get it...
I just ordered the Fenix LOD RB80 (single AAA battery). I wanted small enough to carry daily... Still looking for a dual AA that can do it all.. maybe in the future... anyhow here are the specs, not bad for $46.50-
• Luxeon Rebel LED (80 lm/w) with lifespan of 50,000 hours • Five output modes: 21 Lumens(3.5hrs) -> 7.5 Lumens(8.5hrs) -> 60 Lumens(1hrs) ->Strobe -> SOS • Four days of survival use (two continuous hours per day on the lowest setting) • Uses one 1.5V AAA battery (not included), inexpensive and widely available • 7.35cm (L) x 1.4cm (D) (or 2.9 in (L) x 0.6 in (D)) • 14.5-gram (or 0.5 oz) weight (excluding batteries) • Made of aircraft-grade aluminum • Durable Type III hard anodized finish • Toughened ultra-clear glass lens with AR coating • Textured reflector for a flawless beam • Waterproof to IPX-8 Standards • Capable of standing up securely on a flat surface to serve as a candle • Input voltage: 0.8V~3.3V • Reliable twist-switch • Includes a spare o-ring, a split ring, and a pocket clip
Also, I just converted my old 3-Dcell Maglite (finally burned out the last bulb for it)... so the 3wat-led maglite upgrade kit just went in... not bad at all for $18... remains adjustable, and fairly bright..
Wouldn't it be cool if the Dmutt and light came tomorrow? wow.

I have two lights from Fenix and could not be happier: - P3D Premium 100 is in my pocket for occasional carry - LOD is on my EDC keychain, hanging right next to my Squirt P4 and micro compass.
A great combination.

I guess so. But, much smaller and the on button is at the "Butt". It does have a nice "saber" like beam. .
