Didn't somebody wreck a CT handle whacking it and batoning it? I seem to remember seeing pics on the swamp forum.. Eric was very insistent on doing a warranty repair but the knife owner refused saying it was his fault..

Yeah, that was Moine.

Dan, would it be possible to put an extended tang on future Scrap Yard knives? On some occasions, it is required to beat on the handle. Couldn't you glue the handle to the tang and prevent moisture from getting under the handle? We have been discussing this in the yard.

I assume you're talking about one like on the Fallkniven F1? That would be nice to have on some of the smaller Scrapyards.

It’s an interesting idea that we have kicked around. Production costs are a consideration. The strongest knives have full length and visible tangs...like that of Busse's or Swamp Rats with slab handles. The next approach is what we do with ScrapYard that is almost full tang. This increases the strength, balance and quality of the knife.

In keeping with the Performance-to-Price ratio that delivers the toughest possible knife at the lowest price we do not offer an exposed tang at this point.

Dan
