It is 91F here today, with a heat index of 98. That's just too darned hot this close to Halloween! If this continues, I'm moving closer to Canada. Got my new 3M sharpening belts in today, but it is just too hot on my back porch to grind.I don't need a bunch of sweat running in my wound from the cancer "procedure".Maybe wierd old wooden Al Gore got it right.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Even at my age, dreams are important. Thanks to all the great dogs out west and up north, I have my inspiration. My brother lived in VA for at least 20 years. He just moved to Reno, NV. He likes it there so far. We'll see what the winters are like. His pictures make it look a little dry there. I like green. I saw some beautiful country in MO back in 2002.

Under a Tornado Warning till 10 p.m. here Vic.It is now Seventy Four degrees in Southern Wisconsin and that is warm for late October too.
Very windy all day, calling for gusts of 70 m.p.h. and 2" hail balls associated with this storm.
Good night to stay indoors and watch TV till the power goes out.
You are of the right mind to move Washington way when the Yoots are out of school too Vic. That would suit your hunt and survival needs as well as the swamps but with NO mosquito's and snakes of gators!! Plenty of BIG game though you would probably have to hunt for it.
Hummm doesn't sound half bad today does it?
Peace.

The area I saw was SE MO from St. Louis to some place across the Miss. from Dyersburg, TN. I have kin in NW TN that I was visiting on my way back from Denver. Beautiful wooded rolling hills. Very nice.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Reno's not too bad. more fish taco stands than I've ever seen in one place in my entire life. up around lake tahoe it's gorgeous, and plenty green, but the winters do get a bit chilly. if you're worried about things being cold, oregon or washington would probably be a bit better than montana, but montana is absolutely beautiful in the high mountains in summer. utah's perfect, though. too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter. I spent that past four years driving around with a heater that was permanently on. I could turn the fan to low, but even with the windows down that extra bit of hot, hot air when it's 100-degrees-plus outside is a killer. we had our first snow in the valley last night, so I guess I have to stop wearing flip-flops to work now. it never gets down far below 0F most of the time during the winter. most of the time.

Well, I'm in the southwest corner of the state - don't have to worry about the New Madrid fault.

Oh, the Pacific NW looks like Valhalla to me. I love pitman's pics of BC. Hope all the tornados miss you, PoP. My 1st cousin lost his wife to one a few years ago in TN.

Yeah Din, Utah sounds pretty. I've met a few Mormon missionaries from there. They knew how to ski and all. Not sure a heretic would be accepted there! I think it was Brigham Young who said, "This is the place". Or was it, "I don't care how you bring 'em, just bring 'em young." Just kidding. All the folks I met from out there were very nice outdoor types.
