I'd go witht he Ratweiler. In fact I might pick one up. I haven't decided. However, I do know that the DM LE will not be on my list as long as I have my RMD.
Nothing like competition. I currently use three knives:
1. Mandu
2. Mutt CG
3. BF Forumknife from Nick
Summary:
Looks
Nick's knife beats them all, I will post some pics tomorrow of these blades but it is a beaut. The temper line, the handle, the finish. OK, it is a custom and in this case it is unfair because the other two are production knives.
Sharpness out of the box
The forumknife is a razor but the other two also came fairly sharp. I must say SRKW has improved and the Mutt holds its ground.
Detail cutting work
For food prep the forumknife is the best but surprisingly it is the Mandu that score top points because of the choil. You can choke the knife without getting cut and do bushcraft type work. The Mutt does the same but the weight is an issue.
Chopping
Mutt, mutt, mutt. The other ones also can do it but the forward weight of the Mutt is an advantage.
Batoning
Again the Mutt followed closely by the forumknife. The Mandu loses a bit of ground because I gave it a double edge which isn't ideal for this type of chore.
Fire starting
The forum knife because of the grubs on the top, makes the sparks fly like there is no tomorrow. The other two in the original form need to use the cutting edge which I find annoying. My Mandu is stripped so it does better than the the Mutt CG.
Handle
Mutt, Mandu and then Forumknife. Nothing beats the ole ResC handle. The Mandu probably has the best handle of the more recent rats. The forumknife has a nice handle but I would love it to be slightly thicker.
Weight
The forum knife is light, don't have a clue why the Mandu is so much heavier. I guess I don't have to say a thing about the Mutt.
Lanyard hole
Only the Mandu has a usable lanyard hole. The other two have it in the grip, which in my opinion makes it uncomfortable if you use it, neither handle is very big to begin with.
